The Stockyards

A large stockyard was located at the south end of the railyards. Cattle and sheep had to be taken off and rested for eight hours and then reloaded. It is said that the sheep were led back on by a white goat.

Oral history says that Native Americans would camp by the stockyards and take any animals that were ill or died.
